Business organisations usually correspond to a transport company (TU). However, there are also transport companies that comprise several business organisations. For example, if the company offers both rail and bus services.
The source for the transport companies is the directory of transport companies published by the Federal Office of Transport. The reference between the business organisation and the transport companies is maintained and published in the atlas system by the customer information system management.
Description
The business organisations are used to allocate compensation and transport revenue on the one hand and for timetable publication on the other (other uses may also be possible). The data is managed in the atlas system.
Technical aspects
A business organisation is identified by a so-called “Swiss Business Organisation ID” (SBOID). It is part of the Swiss ID for Public Transport technical standard. Data is maintained in the atlas system.
